In the previous article, we have mentioned that using hot alkaline boiling treatment to process natural fibers can remove part of the lignin and hemicellulose. This is a traditional chemical degumming solution that is often used in the pretreatment of hemp and flax fibers.
However, this solution has a very limited effect on softening jute fibers. On the one hand, the lignin content in jute is too high, and low-concentration alkali treatment cannot effectively remove the lignin attached to the fiber surface; on the other hand, the single jute fiber is only 1-2 mm, and high concentration treatment will destroy the hemicellulose bonding between jute single fibers while removing lignin, which will cause the fiber with most lignin removed to become useless jute dust.
The most fundamental problem of jute fiber degumming is how to remove the lignin components on the fiber surface as much as possible while protect the mutual bonding of single fibers. The jute of biosoftening solution proposed by LCB ( HK ) LIMITED.LCB-HK is one subsidiary of
